Goal 1,00,000 Literate in Lucknow by December.
What's Your Share?

Short time horizons and practical constraints make it diffcult for many illiterates to get an education, let alone get literate. Children who do not presently attend school, will most likely never emerge from poverty in their entire lifetime! Offcial data indicates nearly 40% of adults above 15 and 25% of children from 6-15 are illiterate.

COMMIT NOW! JOIN THE CAMPAIGN.

Your family and friends are invited to be a part of the Lucknow for Literacy campaign and walk for literacy on Sunday, the 7th of May. Children are requested to come in their school uniform and gather with you next to the school banner at the KD Singh Babu Stadium and arrive positively by 8 am. You are also requested to bring your learners and their families to join in the walkathon, that is, if your children have already been participating in Global Dream's "Each one reach and teach at least one" campaign.

The campaign aims to make at least 1 lakh people literate by the end of December 2014 and this needs your support. If we can meet this goal, we can make Lucknow completely literate within the next two years.

EACH ONE REACH AND TEACH AT LEAST ONE

The good news is that some 60,000 school-going children have adopted one or more learners and have been teaching them using Global Dream. The learners are of all ages, young and old. Though data is presently being compiled, early indications are that Lucknow has some 30,000 new literates now than it did before the summer break, thanks to the children! The remaining children have also resolved to complete their assignments and to add their share to this campaign with the help of their families.

The campaign is sure to gather momentum with your family's participation in the upcoming walkathon and by any other way you can support this campaign.

Please fill the Walk-a-thon Registration Form with your family and friends' names and send to the school with your child. Also provided are I-Support Forms for those you know who may wish to provide any kind of support to the campaign: Volunteer, Lead, Sponsor and Train. Please ensure the maximum number of people show up with your effort to the Walk-a-thon and a maximum number of individuals sign up the I-Support Form
